The Payyanur Firka Gramodyog Khadi Sangh, popularly known as the Payyanur Khadi Centre, is a premier Khadi institution located in Payyanur, Kannur district, Kerala. Recognized by the Government of India and operating under the Kerala Khadi & Village Industries Board, our center proudly holds an A+ category status, reflecting decades of trust, quality, and excellence in Khadi production.
Established under Kerala jurisdiction on November 1, 1959, after initially functioning under Tamil Nadu’s administration, the Payyanur Khadi Centre has evolved into a major production hub in Kerala. We oversee and guide various departmental units in Kannur and Kasaragod districts, ensuring the preservation and promotion of India’s age-old hand-spinning and weaving traditions.
Traditional Khadi Products: We produce high-quality dhotis, shirtings, towels, bedsheets, and uniform cloth, crafted from hand-spun cotton yarns.
Innovation in Fashion: Embracing sustainability, we have introduced a modern organic fashion line featuring stylish cotton kurtas dyed with plant-based pigments such as mulberry leaves, pomegranate peels, indigo, and rubia. These eco-friendly garments have become a popular choice, especially during festive seasons like Onam.
To empower rural artisans, generate employment, and preserve India’s cultural heritage through authentic Khadi products while adapting to modern trends and promoting sustainable fashion.
